Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg is a great experience for children and families. Great Wolf Lodge has a huge indoor water park section that features numerous attractions.
In the indoor water park area, there are three really large slides for older children and adults, two areas with smaller slides for little children, a wading pool for small children, a wave pool for larger children, a large wet and wild play structures, a hot tub for adults, a surf simulator, a lazy river and more.
As you can see from this list, there really area a lot of things to do at the indoor water park.
This means that Great Wolf Lodge is a water park that you can enjoy year round. The indoor water park area is kept at 84 degrees year round, so it is comfortable enough to walk around the water park in your swimsuit, but not so hot that you’re miserable.
There is a pizza place inside the indoor water park area making it a convenient place to eat. The food is good. Not amazing, but definitely not bad for resort food.

In addition to the indoor water park area, Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg also has an outdoor area that you can enjoy if you happen to be there in the summer. The outdoor area has a large pool area with areas that are shallow enough for little kids.

Aside from the waterpark area, there are also a ton to do in the hotel area of Great Wolf Lodge, Williamsburg.
The staff at Great Wolf Lodge hold activities at different times throughout the day, including arts and crafts, story time, and nightly dance parties.
Smaller kids love the nightly dance parties, so I definitely recommend checking one of those out while you’re there. My older children have loved doing the arts and crafts activities for a little break from the water park as well.
If the family need a longer break, the MagiQuest game is hours of fun for kids.
MagiQuest is best for children ages 7 and up, but younger children will definitely enjoy running around and waving the magic wand.
The game is a scavenger hunt of sorts, where video screens give you a task that leads you all over the resort hotel. You use the clues along the way to find the next item you’re hunting for, unlocking additional tasks along the way.
The MagiQuest game is a little hard to figure out at first. Truthfully, the game isn’t super intuitive until someone explains it, in my opinion. But, once you get the basic rundown of what to do and the kids get the hang of you, its fun to sit back and watch them figure out the clues.
My kids loved the MagiQuest game just about as much as the water park.
In addition to the MagiQuest game, there is also a bowling alley, a laser tag place, an arcade and a Build a Bear workshop.

Given all there is to do at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, I think that the ideal amount of time to stay for is 2 nights.
A one night stay is great, but your kids will probably leave feeling like they didn’t get to do everything.
One important note about your Great Wolf Lodge stay is that you actually get admission into the water park all day on your day of arrival and day of departure. So, a one night stay will mean two full days at the water park. A two night stay will mean 3 full days at the water park.
A two night stay will allow you kids to complete the MagiQuest game, enjoy hours at the water park, hit up a dance party, play at the arcade and more.
Some people do choose to stay longer at Great Wolf Lodge. One family I met there was doing a week long stay. In my opinion, this was a bit long, but they seemed relaxed and happy.

The rooms at Great Wolf Lodge are really beautiful actually! I’ve stayed in both a standard room and a themed room. The cabin themed room was definitely nice, and included a large gas fireplace, and a small separate cabin like room for the kids.
We were comfortable in both.

You can bring your own towel to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, but you don’t have to.
When you enter the water park area, there is a station to pick up towels on the right. You are allowed one towel per guest on your account, and you need to check the towels out. This also means that you are responsible for returning the towels if you want to get a new one.
There is signage indicating that you need to return the towels or else you could be charge, so I would recommend trying to keep track of them and returning them when you’re finish. I’m not sure how strict this policy is, but its not hard to return the towels to get a new one, so I recommend doing so.
Also, since the temperature at Great Wolf Lodge is so comfortable, we found that we only really needed the towels to dry off at the end, making it easy to just return it when finished.

Great Wolf Lodge policies require that you wear swimwear in the swimming areas. However, at one point I was in the water park area wearing clothes (having broken my arm the day before) and did not have anyone question.

There are also a few places to eat outside the resort that you can try. I’ve heard amazing things about Pierce’s Pit BBQ, and its on my list to try next time we’re there. We tried The Huntsman’s Grill, which is right outside of Great Wolf Lodge (though not affiliated with it), and had great food.
But, if you prefer to just bring your own food, you can definitely do that at Great Wolf Lodge.
