Our Recent Expedition to See the Corolla Horses
On our last visit to the Outer Banks, we took a family member’s truck onto the drive on portion of the Corolla shores in hopes of finding some wild horses.
We were surprised by how many trucks were out on the North Carolina coastline. It almost felt like a beach highway!
After driving for a few miles without any luck in seeing the wild ponies, we took a detour into one of the neighborhoods. With all the vehicles on the coastline, it just seemed like our search of the horses may have better luck in the trees and brush of the neighborhoods.
There, we quickly spotted our first Corolla horse. He was with two other horses, munching on leaves. The horses were completely undisturbed by our vehicle, and walked along calmly beside us.
On our way back, we were happy to find a few more wild horses walking along the Atlantic Ocean. The whole family was delighted by the close-up view of the horses.
